Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to two actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first appearances were on television as Jackie Harris, a character that was played by her mother on Roseanne, an ABC sitcom Roseanne. The family did not let her perform until she turned an adult because of how stress can impact on their child. Perry stated that she was too timid to perform at the age of 16, but she began playing in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to make friends after transferring to the university from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, relocated from Boston to New York in search of TV roles. Her small part was in TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness led her to California to find theater work. Perry's mother and I appeared on Broadway as a couple in The Other Place, in 2013. She also appeared alongside her father as well as Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Anna Christie in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC film The Family in 2016. She was also a regular actor on the ABC show, a political thriller Scandal, starring her dad. In addition, she appeared on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. The actress was chosen for the character despite her connections to the character's family.
