Silk was born in Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. Ilkay Silk was a well-known actor, producer and director who also taught at St. Thomas University. Her parents were Peter an academic with a reputation for excellence. Anna is awed by her mother's job as a play director and also attending rehearsals. Silk was featured in many commercials when she was a young child. She graduated from St. Thomas University with the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1997. Her early theater experience has included at least two productions at Theatre St. Thomas: Seven Menus and The Kitchen. Silk made the move to Toronto for further development of her acting profession in November 1999. She later, in the decade that followed, she relocated to Los Angeles, California. Seth Cooperman became her husband in 2007, after they met at an actor'sWorkshop held at Los Angeles. When they got engaged in 2008, the couple got married in 2009. On April 10, 2011 the couple renewed their vows during an Jewish ceremony in Fredericton after she had converted to Judaism.
